Our starting point for this home reno was taking inspiration from the existing backyard landscaping, which had an industrial/zen feel. The two storey height in the family room was amplified with our new feature fireplace wall. We clad the fireplace bump out in a hand-troweled concrete skin tile where the beauty of the final product was the imperfect look it created. Two ethanol fireplaces create a long ribbon of fire, with a cozy reading nook off to one side.
